About Us
The 1860 House is part of the Stowe Village historic district. Built circa 1860, it has been a prominent property in the Village and has been renovated to 21st century standards. You will find the Inn maintains much of the original charm - original wide-board floors, 12-panel windows, and Vermont-style country quilts, while offering hospitality for today’s traveler. Select among our 5 guest rooms, all with private baths and king, queen or extra-long twin beds and firm mattresses.

Located one block from the main street in Stowe Village, across from the Library and Art Center, adjacent to the Village tennis courts, recreation path, shops and restaurants – close to everything yet in a quiet setting.
The Stowe Trolley, which is actually a bus, operates in the winter months. In winter, the Trolley provides a transportation service for locals and visitors. For no charge you can ride the trolley and leave your car at the Inn. The Trolley stops just steps from our front door!
Stowe Village is a charming New England town, with the traditional white steeple church, specialty shops, cafes, exceptional restaurants, and art galleries. You will want to consider taking an art class at the Helen Day Art Center located across the street.
If you prefer outdoor activities, the award winning recreation path starts in the Village just two blocks from our front door. Perhaps you would prefer the lighted tennis courts, or year round ice rink a short walk away. My personal favorite is the public bocci court offered by the Butler House on the main Street.
