The 1860 House Bed & Breakfast Inn, Stowe, Vermont, USA

INNKEEPER

Rose Marie Matulionis

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland.  After finishing my Masters program in college in Amherst, Massachusetts, I began my career working in public health in the Washington DC area.  In 1979, I moved to Stowe Vermont, married, and in 1980 began operating this historic home as a Bed  & Breakfast Inn.

Those who visit and live here, will tell you that Stowe is a very special place.  A community where people care about neighbors, enjoy the incredible beauty of the land, and know the value of life.  Let us help you slow down from a fast-paced  life and enjoy the activities, relaxation and beauty our town has to offer.

Since 1992 I have spent part of the year traveling, and working in Washington DC.  I'm often at the Inn meeting guests and preparing breakfast.  When I'm traveling, guest Inn-keeper Diane Grant will make you comfortable and help you enjoy your visit.

My maternal grandparents came to this country from Italy in the early 1900s.  In July 2002 I had the pleasure of traveling to Italy and visiting their homestead near the Isola della Gran Sasso. I was delighted to meet and spend time with newly found relatives, and experience their warm hospitality.

I hope to share this same warm hospitality with you during your visit to this special town.  We welcome people from all countries to The 1860 House in Stowe, Vermont. USA.  Visit us soon!
