Stowe Theatre Guild Presents "Aida"
The show opens in the present day, in an Egyptian exhibit at a modern museum. A
man and a woman begin to move toward a mystical burial chamber as if they know
of its secrets or as if they have seen it somewhere before. Their eyes meet as
the model of a woman-Pharoah comes to life and sings that “Every Story is a
Love Story.”

Waterbury Festival Players presents "The Sisters Rosensweig"
Shows are Wed. 6/27 - Sat. 6/30, Thu. 7/5 - Sat. 7/7, Wed. 7/11 - Sat. 7/14,
with a Matinee Sat. 7/7. Life is made up of cross roads, and today three very
smart sisters with very different lives who haven't been under the same roof
for quite some time are coming together. That special relationship that exists
in siblings is imparted to this moment of their adult lives. Like most family
reunions, there is a lot of laughter. Not, at jokes, but at the foibles that
make up real lives and living. You'll laugh a lot at this show, because real
life can be pretty funny, especially if it is someone else's. But, you will
also take away from this theater experience a sense of possibility, at what
your own life can become. There is always more life to live, and you never know
what's possible.

Wine Tasting in the Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
We will be tasting new releases of Austrian White Wines, for inclusion on our
list. Rafael Flores of Artisanal Cellars, will be on hand to discuss the wines
and answer any questions. The vineyards in Austria cover 51,000 hectares,
which, for the most part, lie in the east and southeast of the country. Amongst
the wines produced here, white wines unquestionably make up the larger portion
– cultivated in 70% of the vineyards are 22 white wine varieties permitted for
high quality wine production. Austria has approximately 20,000 small wine
producing estates, many of whose financial existence is based on the selling of
wine directly on the premises. However, more than half of the wine-growing
country features estates with over 5 hectares of vineyards, with most of these
highly competitive export-wise. Austria has a very long wine history in
Zagersdorf, in the region of Burgenland, clay urns were found in cairns
containing grape seeds dating back to 700 B.C. The format will be casual, walk
around with cheese and bread. The wines featured will be: Weingut Strauss,
Sämling Classic, Steirmark 2006; Weingut Hillinger, Welschriesling Trocken,
Burgenland 2005; Anton Bauer, Grüner Veltliner Trocken, “Rosenberg”, Donauland

Stowe Theatre Guild Presents "Into the Woods"
We all know what woods can be like. . .especially when they are conceived first
by the Brothers Grimm and brought to life in story and song by Stephen Sondheim
and James Lapine. "Into the Woods" won three Tony Awards when it
premiered on Broadway in 1987, and five Drama Desk Awards -- including Best
Musical. When it was revived on Broadway in 2002, it won the Tony for Best
Musical Revival. Why? It has a hauntingly beautiful score. Moments of wisdom
and wistfulness and wicked humor. And, yes, revelations that remind us all of
what it means to be parents and children, as well as the value of the legacies
we leave behind when we make our inevitable exits. Sure, the sources are fairy
tales. . .but the story offers a probing, realistic depcition of life's
complexities. It is at once one of Broadway's most sophisticated and most
playful musicals.
Times: 8:00pm with Matinees of the first act only at 2:00pm on July 22nd

Wine Tasting in the Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
We will be tasting new releases of Italian Prosecco, for inclusion on our list.
Bill O’Connor of Baker Distributing, will be on hand to discuss the wines and
answer any questions. Prosecco is Italy's answer to refreshing, well-made
sparkling wine at a reasonable price. Made primarily in the district of
Valdobbiadene near the town of Conegliano in the region of Veneto. Prosecco is
the name of the grape that is used to make this sparkling wine and many of the
best examples are 100% Prosecco. As this is a grape that is prized for its
delicate flavors and aromatics, the wine itself is not made in the classic
method made famous in the Champagne district of France. Rather, the Charmat
method of sparkling wine is used to make Prosecco as the classic Champagne
method would mean aging the wine for several years before release, robbing the
wine of its freshness. The format will be casual, walk around with cheese and
bread. The wines featured will be: Rive della Chiesa, Prosecco Colli
Trevigiani; Mionetto Spa Valdobbiadene, Prosecco del Veneto; Martini &
Rossi, Prosecco Marca Trevigiana; Santa Margherita, Brut, Prosecco di
Valdobbiadene; Sergio Mionetto, Sparkling Extra Dry.

Stowe Theatre Guild Presents "Little Shop of Horrors"
Ten years ago, Little Shop of Horrors took Stowe Theatre Guild by storm. Back
by popular demand, this gleefully gruesome musical has Seymour, a down and out
skid row floral assistant, craving fame and fortune after he discovers a
mysterious plant with an unusual craving for fresh blood. The growing plant's
demand for more, more, MORE is accompanied by witty parodies of sixties music
and campy comedy you can’t help but laugh at. Between bites, the carnivorous
Audrey II, named after Seymour's secret love, and the "Doo-Whop
Girls," bring down the house singing rhythm and blues!

Shows are Wed. 9/19 - Sat. 9/22, Wed. 9/26 - Sat. 9/29, Wed. 10/3 - Sat. 10/6,
with a Matinee Sat. 9/29. Would Edward commit murder for money? Yes. Would you
like to see him do it? You should be ashamed of yourself. But, mistakes are
made. Poor choices. Now what? Kill again? Maybe, but maybe not. He might be
found out. He might not get what he really wants. Of course, there is sex and
money to consider, and happiness. Are they all one and the same? It all seems
so simple some times. But, not in this show. This is NOT an Agatha Christie
mystery. What starts out so simply becomes filled with twists and suspense. For
something different, in your murder mystery world meet Edward. Who knows you
might fall in love.
